Ray's parents took us to Europe! We flew into Frankfurt, Germany then went straight to Munich and spent the night. From Germany we went to Innsbruck, Austria for one night. We stayed at the Schwarzer-Adler hotel. Then by rail we went through the Alps and ate lunch in Zurich. We got back on the rail and went onto Geneva to spend the night. From there we were supposed to take a rail to Avignon, Provence France, but the rail workers went on strike that day. Due to the strike, all cars were gone except for a large Mercedes Van. We drove the van to Avignon to the Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes) to spend the night one night. Here we stayed at the La Mirande Hotel. We had the best meal I have ever eaten and probably will ever eat in my entire life! The next morning, the rail workers were off strike so we took the TGV (speeds up to 200 mph) to Paris. The next day Ray and I had to fly to San Francisco for a 12 hour layover. We rented a car and did a quick Napa tour. All this is 6 days! Trip of a lifetime for sure.
